TGIF! This week has seemed very long…Someone had the day off and was really rubbing in the fact that I had to go to work while he slept until “noon-thirty”. Hehe.
Breakfast was coffee, 1/2 banana, greek yogurt, 1/2 cup peanut butter granola, and a calcium supplement.
My day was pretty hectic, but I managed to grab lunch around 1:30pm.
In the mix:
- spinach and arugula
- sliced onion
- shredded carrots
- chickpeas (~1/4 cup)
- piece of salmon
- feta cheese
- craisins
- whole grain croutons
- 1 Tbs balsamic vinaigrette
My company was nice enough to close early today because of Memorial Day weekend – I was able to leave at 3pm!
I took a nice, long, sunny walk up the Upper West Side and enjoyed a kiddie cone with sprinkles from Mr. Softee.
The ice cream was the perfect treat for a hot, almost-summer afternoon. I arrived at my gym on 92nd St around 4:30pm and hopped on the elliptical for about 40 minutes. When I finished I stretched my IT band/hamstring muscles and did some push-ups and core work. As soon as I got home, I ate a delicious, & crunchy apple!
Dinner was a leftover middle-eastern stuffed pepper and a slice of my homemade whole wheat bread (I’ve been keeping it in the freezer).
After dinner I was really craving pb & j so I had a couple of Dr. Kracker seed breads with crack peanut butter and raspberry jam. I forgot to take a photo until I was almost done eating. Use your imagination and multiply this cracker x 3.
Tomorrow is going to be a busy day – I’m headed to an 8:30am cycling class at my gym and then my sister is coming to visit for the weekend! I’m very excited
Here’s what I have planned:
Saturday
- Brunch at Le Pain Quotidien
- 2pm Yoga Class in the E. Village
- 6pm Dinner at Chipotle with Joe
- Perhaps we’ll rent a movie – Any suggestions??
Sunday
- Bike riding across the Brooklyn Bridge
- Lunch at 88 Orchard
- A treat from the Chinatown Ice Cream Factory
- Walking & shopping downtown
- Indian food for dinner!
