Last night I met some fellow CPTC marathoners at Boqueria in SOHO for some sangria and tapas. Yum! The food was delicious and the company was even better. We discussed the details of marathon prep, obsessed about the weather report for Boston, and even made a packing list. Special thanks to Ani G. for organizing the get-together AND taking the photos. Ani is the best

Here is a selection of our tapas choices:
Pan con tomate – toasted bread rubbed with tomato, garlic, and olive oil.
Espinacas a la catalana – spinach with chickpeas, raisins, pinenuts, and garlic.
Torta espanola – layers of egg and potatoes. Accompanied by a lemon sauce, olives, spanish cheese, and marcona almonds.
Albondigas – lamb, veal, and beef meatballs in a DELICIOUS tomato sauce. I thought I tasted a bit of cinnamon in this dish.
And of course, some Pomegranate Sangria! I limited myself to one glass (didn’t want to get too tipsy on a weeknight!), but I could have easily had much more. It was very light and fruity. I can’t wait to recreate this at home.
